The Security Service of Ukraine detained a border guard in Odessa on suspicion of collaborating with the FSB

In Odessa, officers of the Security Service of Ukraine detained a sailor of the State Border Guard Service, who is suspected of working for the Russian Federal Security Service. This was reported by the Security Service of Ukraine.

According to the SBU, the man was recruited via Telegram, and he transmitted to the occupiers data on the combat positions of mobile fire groups, radar stations and anti-aircraft batteries defending the city.

“Using intelligence data, the Russians hoped to prepare a new series of air attacks on the regional center, bypassing Ukrainian air defense. Among the main targets of the Russian Federation were the places of concentration of personnel of Ukrainian troops involved in hostilities on the southern front,” – the SBU reported.

The attacker periodically traveled around Odessa on taxi and took photos of the location of the defense forces on his phone. He was detained while transmitting information, and his phone with the photos was confiscated.

A case has been opened against the man under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (high treason under martial law), he faces life imprisonment.
