The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine is actively advancing in the investigation of cases against people’s deputies. Recently, the NABU completed the investigation into the current People’s Deputy, who is suspected of illegal enrichment of 11 million hryvnias.
According to the investigation, in two years, the people’s deputy purchased luxury real estate and cars for an amount that significantly exceeds his official income. Among the acquired property are three land plots in the Kyiv region, five apartments in the capital, two non-residential premises, as well as Tesla and Mercedes-Benz cars.
In order to hide the ill-gotten wealth, the people’s deputy transferred most of the assets to his close relatives, while remaining the actual owner and manager of this property. On May 2, 2024, NABU and SAP informed the People’s Deputy about the suspicion of committing a crime, provided for in Art. 368-5 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal enrichment). The case was referred to the court.
Also NABU raised suspicion to the former elected official in illegally receiving compensation for housing rent in the amount of almost one million hryvnias. It turns out that the ex-Deputy received compensation, although he had his own apartment in Kyiv. His actions are qualified under part 2 of Art. 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (abuse of power or official position). The investigation in this case is ongoing.
