The Supervisory Board of NNEGC “Energoatom” convenes a special meeting due to the corruption scandal
The Supervisory Board of NNEGC “Energoatom” stated that it takes the recent allegations of corruption related to the activities of the company’s employees with the utmost seriousness. In this regard, a special meeting will be held to assess the situation and determine further steps. This is stated in the official statement of the Supervisory Board of “Energoatom” dated November 11.
The Supervisory Board plans to convene an extraordinary meeting to “comprehensively assess the situation and determine appropriate actions”. These will include initiating an independent audit of individual company operations, as well as a detailed assessment of internal procedures and control systems.
“The Supervisory Board is committed to the principles of full transparency, accountability, the highest standards of integrity within the organization and cooperation with authorities”, the statement said.
The Ministry of Community Development, Territories and Infrastructure clarified that the agency does not coordinate the protection of “Energoatom” facilities. They noted that since the end of October 2025, within the framework of the Energy Protection Coordination Headquarters created by the government, the Recovery Agency, together with the Ministry of Development, has been providing physical protection for individual facilities of “Ukrenergo” and “Ukrzaliznytsia”.
Until October 2025, the Recovery Agency was engaged in the construction of physical protection systems at 22 substations of “Ukrenergo”.
As a reminder, on November 10, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine reported on the conduct of a large-scale special operation “Midas” to expose corruption schemes in the energy sector. More than 70 searches were conducted as part of the operation.
According to the investigation, the organizers of the scheme received up to 15% of the value of contracts for the state-owned enterprise “Energoatom” in the form of illegal benefits. “Kickbacks” were paid by the company’s counterparties, who were forced to do so by the participants in the corruption scheme.
