The Supreme Court of Justice extended the term of Tymoshenko’s procedural obligations until May 13, 2026
The Supreme Anti-Corruption Court granted the request of the SAPO prosecutor and extended the term of the procedural obligations imposed on the People’s Deputy and leader of the Batkivshchyna parliamentary faction Yulia Tymoshenko until May 13, 2026. This was reported by the press service of the VAKS.
According to the court’s decision, Tymoshenko is obliged to appear at every request of detectives, prosecutors or the court and inform them about a change of place of residence or work. Her passport and other documents for traveling abroad remain in storage at the State Migration Service.
“The decision cannot be appealed and comes into force from the moment of its announcement,” the Supreme Court of Ukraine noted.
On the evening of January 13, anti-corruption officers came to search the Batkivshchyna office and seized $40,000 from the party leader Yulia Tymoshenko. According to the investigation, she intended to use this money to bribe three MPs from another faction to vote as she told them. Subsequently, the SAPO announced the politician’s suspicion of offering a bribe and published a recording of Tymoshenko’s conversation with the deputy to whom she offered a bribe.
Tymoshenko in response accused NABU and SAPO of “political repression”. According to her version, the investigation falsified the recording, and the $40,000 were her personal savings.
On January 16, the Supreme Court of Justice of Ukraine chose Tymoshenko as a preventive measure in the form of a bail of 33.3 million hryvnias. She was also ordered to surrender her passport and not leave the Kyiv region without the permission of the investigation.
