The United States allocates more than 190 million dollars to support the energy sector of Ukraine
The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) announced the provision of more than $190 million in aid to Ukraine over five years.
About this it is said on the USAID website.
This assistance will be provided as part of a new project called Protecting Power, Resilience and Connectivity (SPARC).
The SPARC project will focus on:
- Increasing the stability, reliability, availability and safety of the electricity, natural gas and district heating sectors in Ukraine.
- Provision of critical technical assistance, reform support, equipment and services to support energy supply.
This project is part of the overall package of US aid to Ukraine, which amounts to at least 1.4 billion dollars.
According to USAID, Russia’s war against Ukraine caused serious damage to the country’s energy infrastructure.
“The USAID SPARC program will help keep the light on for millions of Ukrainians and give them the opportunity to defend their homeland“, the agency concluded.
