The United States is providing Ukraine with a new $150 million military aid package

Washington is preparing to announce a new package of military aid to Ukraine in the amount of 150 million dollars. The official announcement is expected to take place on Monday, July 1.

About this informs Reuters.

The new aid package is aimed at strengthening Ukraine’s air defenses, especially in light of Russia’s recent massive missile attacks on energy infrastructure. Among other things, the package will include interceptor missiles for HAWK air defense systems, as well as additional ammunition and equipment to support Ukraine’s defense efforts.

MIM-23 HAWK missiles, developed in the 1950s, have undergone significant modernization and have been exported to many countries around the world. They remain an important element of air defense, providing protection against aerial threats.

The MIM-23 Hawk is an American medium-range anti-aircraft missile system developed by Raytheon and adopted by the US Army in the 1960s. The complex has three versions — Phase I, Phase II and Phase III. Initially, it was developed to destroy aircraft, and later it was refined to intercept missiles.

Since 2022, the amount of aid provided by the United States for the military needs of Ukraine has exceeded $50 billion.
