The US is concerned about Ukraine’s strikes on the strategic Voronezh radars in Russia: media

Washington has expressed concern over Ukraine’s recent attacks on Russian radar stations that provide both air defense and nuclear launch warnings.

About this informs The Washington Post with reference to a source in the US administration.

Although these facilities were not directly involved in the war against Ukraine, they are “sensitive points” for Russia, as they demonstrate the vulnerability of its strategic deterrence systems.

The Ukrainian side claims that Russia used these stations to monitor Ukraine’s military activities, including the use of drones and missiles.

According to the publication, American officials have expressed sympathy for the situation in Ukraine and are actively discussing the possibility of lifting restrictions on the use of American weapons for strikes on Russian territory. However, they are concerned that Ukrainian attacks on Russia’s early warning system could harm the strategic stability of the US-Russia relationship.

It is noted that before this, the GUR was informed that on May 26, a drone of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine attacked the long-range target detection radar station “Voronezh M”, located in the city of Orsk, Orenburg region of the Russian Federation.
