We are talking about the delivery of 3,350 Extended Range Attack Munition (ERAM) missiles, as well as the same number of GPS/INS navigation systems with the SAASM module. The package includes support equipment, spare parts, repair support, software and other services.

“This proposed sale will support the foreign policy and national security objectives of the United States by enhancing the security of a partner country that is a force for political stability and economic progress in Europe”, the statement said.

The sale is expected to enhance Ukraine’s ability to counter current and future threats, providing its Armed Forces with additional capabilities for self-defense and support of regional security. At the same time, it is emphasized that the Ukrainian army will have no difficulties with the introduction of new means in its structure.

The procurement will be financed by contributions from Denmark, the Netherlands and Norway, as well as foreign military funding from the United States.

“The range of such rocket-bombers is up to 450 kilometers. This is a very important tool that could change the situation on the battlefield. After all, the Ukrainian military and our air force are in dire need of air defense systems with a range of several hundred kilometers, explained Mykhailo Samus, co-founder of the Defense Information Consortium.
