The US will provide assistance to Israel and Ukraine: Congress and Biden agree
Ukraine and Israel can expect quick help from the United States. Congressional leaders agreed with President Biden to allocate resources to both countries. A special bill is expected to be passed this week.
This was stated by Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, ABC News reports.
Senator Schumer believes that it would be most effective to approve an additional aid package within the framework of the existing national security program, which provides support for both Israel and Ukraine. This initiative was a reaction to Iran’s recent attack on Israel. House Republican Leader Steve Scalise said that because of the event, the House schedule would be changed to focus on providing assistance to Israel.
The aid to Ukraine will be approved, although the details are not yet known. House Speaker Mike Johnson discussed various options for support with former President Trump, including loans instead of grants and the use of frozen Russian assets. These proposals are expected to be included in the final aid package.
