The Verkhovna Rada adopted a law on pensions for Ukrainian workers

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted draft law No. 9453, which finally regulates the issue of calculating pensions for this category of citizens.
About this informs Ministry of Social Policy.
In particular, now:
- Insurance experience acquired even in countries with which Ukraine does not have an agreement on pension provision will be taken into account. This means that when determining your right to a pension, your entire length of service will be taken into account, regardless of where you worked.
- The size of the pension will be determined on a proportional basis. It will depend on the number of insurance premiums paid in Ukraine and your total work experience until January 1, 2024.
- That is, the more you worked and paid contributions in Ukraine, the more pension you will receive.
- The rights of Ukrainians who worked in the CIS countries are protected. These citizens will be able to include periods of work in the CIS to their insurance experience in Ukraine.
- The mechanism for resuming the payment of pensions has been simplified for emigrants from Crimea. It is enough for them to submit a statement about their desire to receive a pension in Ukraine and provide existing documents, for example, a work book. Confirmation from the Russian Pension Fund is no longer required.
- In order to continue paying pensions to Ukrainians who are temporarily abroad, annual identification will be introduced.
- Law No. 9453 is an important step on the way to protecting the pension rights of Ukrainians who worked abroad. It will help them get a fair pension, regardless of where they worked during their life.
The law is expected to enter into force in the coming weeks after it is signed by the President of Ukraine and officially published.
