The Verkhovna Rada eased visa conditions for foreign volunteers

The Verkhovna Rada adopted a law that temporarily simplifies visa rules for foreigners and stateless persons arriving in Ukraine for volunteer and humanitarian work. This includes the possibility of entry without a long-term visa to obtain a temporary residence permit.

The new rules will be in effect during martial law and for one year after its termination or cancellation. The simplified procedure will be available to foreigners and stateless persons who come to work in branches and representative offices of legal entities registered in accordance with the established procedure and involved in receiving humanitarian aid.

This also applies to participants in international and regional volunteer programs, as well as those who work in organizations that attract volunteers.

At the same time, the law specifically states that these changes do not apply to citizens of the Russian Federation. The purpose of the document is to simplify entry into Ukraine for foreign volunteers and employees of humanitarian organizations who assist the state in war conditions. The law will come into force three months from the date of its publication.
