The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has allowed simplified admission to the police of veterans who have been injured or have disabilities
The Verkhovna Rada approved a law that facilitates employment in the police force of veterans who have been injured or have disabilities. This was announced by the Minister of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko.
“This decision is about fairness. The current selection system did not take into account the real physical capabilities of those who have passed through the front. We have initiated changes to adapt selection procedures without reducing security requirements and professional standards, but taking into account the individual capabilities of each veteran,” he said.
According to the new norms, candidates with combat experience who served in the police, State Border Guard Service, civil defense agencies, the Armed Forces and other military formations may be exempted from physical fitness testing.
The Verkhovna Rada clarified that the list of relevant positions will be determined by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
“Veteran experience must continue to work for the security of the state. Our task is to create comfortable conditions for this,” he said. Igor Klymenko emphasized.
