The Verkhovna Rada plans to liquidate the Gambling Regulator: Hetmantsev gives the reason

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine will soon consider the liquidation of the Commission for the Regulation of Gambling and Lotteries (KRAIL). This was announced by the chairman of the tax committee of the Verkhovna Rada, Danylo Hetmantsev interview for “Economic Truth”.

The People’s Deputy expressed his conviction that the commission’s current activity is blocking important processes in the field of gambling regulation. He noted that the online monitoring system, which was planned to be launched in the summer of 2022, is still not functioning. The commission cites a number of reasons for this, in particular, untimely funding from the Ministry of Finance, but the Ministry of Finance denies these claims.

Hetmantsev also emphasized that, in his opinion, if the management of KRAIL is not able to effectively cope with the duties assigned to it, it should voluntarily resign.

He added that the draft law on liquidation of the commission is already ready for the second reading in the parliament. According to him, in the new system, an agency will be created instead of KRAIL, which will minimize bureaucratic processes and prevent delays in the implementation of the online monitoring system. Hetmantsev expects that this bill will be submitted to the Verkhovna Rada for consideration in the coming weeks.
