The Verkhovna Rada voted to appoint Ruslan Kravchenko as Prosecutor General

The Verkhovna Rada supported the appointment of the head of the State Tax Service, Ruslan Kravchenko, to the post of Prosecutor General of Ukraine. About this reported First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Tax and Customs Policy Yaroslav Zheleznyak.

The decision was supported by 273 people’s deputies. Earlier, the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Law Enforcement recommended appointing Ruslan Kravchenko as Prosecutor General. During the voting, 15 members of the committee voted in favor, two abstained.

On June 16, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, submitted to the parliament a proposal for the appointment of Ruslan Kravchenko as the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.

“In accordance with paragraph 11 of the first part of Article 106 and the third part of Article 131-1 of the Constitution of Ukraine, the Verkhovna Rada received a submission from the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi on granting consent to the appointment of Ruslan Andriyovych Kravchenko to the position of Prosecutor General”, – noted the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, Ruslan Stefanchuk.
