Turkey expects to start peace initiatives against Ukraine by June

Turkey expects that peace initiatives regarding Ukraine will take more concrete forms in the near future, probably by June this year. This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey, Hakan Fidan, informs Anatolia.

According to the head of the Turkish Foreign Ministry, Ankara hopes for the earliest possible start of the process of settling the war in Ukraine.

“We hear a number of initiatives by US President Donald Trump in this regard. But before the meeting of the leaders of the Russian Federation and the US, behind-the-scenes work, preparation for it is necessary.” Fidan noted.

At the same time, the issue of peace negotiations with Russia has recently been increasingly raised among Ukraine’s international partners. In particular, US President Donald Trump said that he is conducting “very serious talks” with Russia regarding the end of the war.
