Ukraine handed the G7 countries a list of the most urgent needs of the energy industry. This is reports the press service of the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine.

The Minister of Energy of Ukraine Svitlana Grynchuk held a meeting with the Ambassadors of the G7 countries, during which she discussed the main needs of Ukraine on the eve of winter in the conditions of constant Russian shelling. The event was also attended by Serhii Koretskyi, Chairman of the Board of JSC Naftogaz of Ukraine, Vitaliy Zaichenko, Chairman of the Board of JSC NEC Ukrenergo, and acting Pavlo Kovtonyuk, chairman of the board of JSC NAEK Energoatom.

“This day alone, we have more than 26 attacks on our energy facilities. Sumy, Chernihiv, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Odesa, and Poltava regions are actually under the enemy’s sights every day. So among our needs, first and foremost is defense – we need more air defense and electronic warfare systems to protect critical infrastructure. The development of passive physical protection, which has already demonstrated its effectiveness, is also a priority,” Svitlana Grynchuk said.

She emphasized that increasing the production of energy equipment is extremely important. The minister appealed to partners to help with additional equipment – both new and used, which can replace the destroyed in Ukraine.

Accumulation of sufficient volumes of natural gas is identified as a separate priority. It is critical for Ukraine to increase imports right now, when Russian troops are trying to destroy the gas infrastructure.

“We have a list of urgent needs, which we pass on for further processing with each G7 country in more detail. I am grateful to the partners for their expressed willingness to work on quick solutions that Ukraine needs”, added Svitlana Grynchuk.
