Trump criticizes Israeli prosecutors over corruption case against Netanyahu

US President Donald Trump has lashed out at Israeli prosecutors leading a corruption case against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, accusing them of distracting the Israeli prime minister from key security issues. Trump his position made public on the Truth Social platform.

Donald Trump believes that the trial involving Netanyahu, who is on corruption charges, is hindering negotiations with Hamas on the release of Israeli hostages, as well as making it difficult to coordinate actions to neutralize the nuclear threat from Iran.

“How is it possible that the Prime Minister of Israel has to spend the whole day in court over such nonsense as cigars or toys? This political witch hunt is the same as in my case.”— Trump said.

He emphasized that the United States allocates billions of dollars in aid to Israel every year, and under such conditions, Washington does not intend to remain aloof from events that, in its opinion, harm the effectiveness of the Israeli leadership.

“We just won a big victory with the participation of Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu. Do not destroy it – let it fulfill its great mission.” – emphasized the US president.

Against the background of these statements, the attention of the world community is focused on the consequences of the night attack on June 22, when the American aircraft hit three facilities related to Iran’s nuclear program – in Natang, Fordo and Isfahan. Trump described the operation as a “successful destruction of the nuclear threat” and threatened Tehran with new strikes if it does not show readiness for peace talks.

The Prime Minister of Israel thanked the US for these actions. At the same time, the representative of Iranian state television, Hassan Abedini, said that the nuclear facilities were evacuated before the attack, so the strike, according to him, did not achieve its goals.

As the White House previously reported, the decision on further US actions will depend on the progress or breakdown of negotiations with Iran regarding its nuclear program. It is expected that decisive steps can be taken in the next two weeks.
