US President Donald Trump expressed hope that China will contribute to US efforts to end the war unleashed by the Russian Federation. That’s what he’s about stated during a video address at the World Economic Forum in Davos.
“I think we’re going to have a great relationship. All we want is equality, a level playing field. We’ve run up huge trade deficits, $1.2 trillion is just a ridiculous number. We don’t need to have amazing relations, we just want them to be fair, just like with many other countries. We can’t always make concessions.” – said Trump.
He emphasized that he sympathizes with the leader of the People’s Republic of China, Xi Jinping. In addition, they have always had a good relationship, although the COVID-19 pandemic “has left its mark”.
“However, we have always cooperated very well and we hope that we will cooperate in the future. And we hope that China will help us stop the war between Ukraine and Russia.” – emphasized the US president.
According to him, this point was discussed with the Chinese leader during the last telephone conversation.
