Trump says Ukraine and Russia are very close to peace deal
US President Donald Trump said that Ukraine and Russia are very close to concluding a peace agreement. That’s what he’s about wrote on his social network Truth Social after arriving in Rome with his wife for the funeral of Pope Francis.
According to the US president, most of the key provisions of the agreement have already been agreed, and both sides “need to meet at a very high level to complete it.”
“Just landed in Rome. Good day for talks and meetings with Russia and Ukraine. They are very close to a deal and now both sides need to meet at a very high level to ‘finish it’. Most of the major points have been agreed upon. We will be where necessary to help bring an end to this brutal and senseless war! Stop the bloodshed, now.” – said Trump.
It will be recalled that on April 25, Donald Trump announced that the negotiations with Ukraine and Russia regarding the ceasefire agreement “are progressing well”, however, according to him, the situation remains “very fragile”.
On the same day, Volodymyr Zelenskyi said that various peace proposals are being considered, and new peace terms have been handed over to US President Donald Trump, and Ukraine is waiting for his reaction. He also noted that very important meetings are scheduled in the coming days, which should bring peace in Ukraine closer.
