ARMA uncovers assets of corrupt officials involved in embezzlement of state budget

The Asset Management and Tracing Agency (ARMA), together with the State Bureau of Investigation, has discovered significant assets linked to those involved in a criminal case involving abuses in the state regulatory body. About this reported the head of ARMA Olena Duma.

Officials of this body organized a scheme to pay salaries to fictitious employees, which led to the illegal appropriation of state funds. As a result of a thorough analysis of registers, banking systems and other sources, ARMA employees discovered assets belonging to those involved in this scheme. Among them: three objects of residential real estate, four cars, 18 land plots and five weapons.

ARMA Deputy Chairman Pavlo Velikorechanin emphasized the importance of obtaining a court order that would allow these assets to be transferred to state management. This will be a key step to ensure the seizure and control of assets seized as part of a criminal case.

ARMA also reported on the successful search of the property of officials of one of the state joint-stock companies, who are suspected of large-scale abuses in the energy sector. In particular, in September, assets totaling about 400 million hryvnias, including 300 million hryvnias and 2 million US dollars, were discovered in the accounts of companies suspected of illegal fraud during state procurement for the energy sector.
