Two people injured in shooting at city council in Kirovohrad region
A shooting occurred in the premises of the Svitlovodsk City Council of the Kirovohrad region, resulting in two people being injured. According to preliminary data of law enforcement agencies, the incident arose due to a conflict between employees of the institution.
During the argument, one of the participants used a weapon and fired several shots. Both victims were immediately hospitalized for necessary medical care.
Police crews and an investigative and operational group promptly arrived at the scene. Law enforcement officers ensured the safety of the personnel and began establishing all the circumstances of the incident. Oksana Kovtunenko, a spokeswoman for the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Kirovohrad region, reported that witnesses are currently being interviewed and evidence is being collected.
The situation in the city is under full control of law enforcement agencies. Investigative actions are ongoing, and the issue of opening criminal proceedings is being resolved upon the fact of the offense.
Local authorities assured that they will facilitate the investigation to identify the perpetrators and bring them to justice in accordance with the current legislation of Ukraine.
