Ukraine and Norway extended the “transport visa-free regime” until March 31, 2027
Ukraine and Norway have agreed to extend the liberalized freight transport regime until March 2027. This was reported by the Ministry of Development of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure.
This is the third extension of the so-called “transport visa-free” between the countries, which allows Ukrainian carriers to operate without the need to obtain special permits.
“The extension of the transport visa-free regime with Norway is another example of Ukraine’s consistent integration into the European transport space. We are grateful to our Norwegian partners for their support and willingness to develop a common transportation market according to European rules.
Such agreements make Ukrainian carriers more competitive, and our logistics more stable and predictable. Last year alone, Ukraine exported goods worth $553 million to Norway, and we see that this figure is growing annually. And the role of transportation liberalization here is difficult to overestimate,” – said the Minister of Development of Communities and Territories Oleksiy Kuleba.
The liberalized regime applies to trucks of the Euro-5 environmental standard and above that carry out bilateral or transit transportation. Drivers must carry a certificate confirming the environmental class of the vehicle.
Let us recall that for the first time, Ukraine and Norway agreed on a transport visa-free regime in August 2023. Last year, the volume of Ukrainian exports to Norway amounted to $553 million.
