Ukraine became the first country in the world to open access to combat data for AI training
Ukraine has become the first country in the world to provide international partners with access to combat data for training artificial intelligence models designed for unmanned systems. Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov announced that the Cabinet of Ministers has allowed the use of millions of personnel from the front to improve autonomous systems, which allows partners to jointly develop autonomous drone technologies based on real combat experience.
Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko also reported that the government has decided to launch an experimental project that will allow training artificial intelligence models for unmanned systems based on real data from the battlefield.
According to her, the initiative opens a new format of interaction between the state, Ukrainian arms manufacturers and international partners. Defense technology developers will receive access to a special AI platform created by the Ministry of Defense. It will make it possible to safely train algorithms for autonomous systems without direct access to sensitive databases.
The implementation of the project is expected to accelerate the development of unmanned technologies and help to more quickly implement new solutions for the needs of the front.
Yulia Svyrydenko emphasized that Ukraine already has a unique array of data from the real battlefield, which is of great value for the development of defense technologies. She also noted that international companies are showing significant interest in such data to improve artificial intelligence systems.
The government believes that the use of this resource will allow expanding the technological capabilities of the Defense Forces of Ukraine and increasing the effectiveness of detecting and defeating the enemy on the battlefield.
