The Central Military District refuted the Russian fake that Ukrainian air defense was responsible for the deaths of 11 people in Kharkiv
Russian propaganda resources are spreading false information that Ukrainian air defense is to blame for the deaths of civilians in Kharkiv on March 7. This was reported by the Center for Countering Disinformation of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (CDC).
In particular, pro-Russian Telegram channels claim that Ukrainian defenders are “deliberately” shooting down missiles over residential areas for the sake of “spectacular footage.” The Center for the Defense of Ukraine called this a typical Kremlin manipulation aimed at removing responsibility from the aggressor and discrediting the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
The Center emphasized that responsibility for the death of 11 people and the destruction lies solely with the Russian troops, who used ballistic weapons in a densely populated city.
“Any attempts to shift the blame to Ukraine are an element of information warfare to cover up the aggressor’s war crimes,” the Center emphasized.
As reported by Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov, under the rubble Fragments of another body were found in a five-story building in Kharkiv, destroyed by a nighttime missile strike, bringing the total death toll to 11.
