President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a conversation with President of Mozambique Daniel Shapu, during which the parties discussed possible gas supplies to Ukraine, as well as the issue of responding to security challenges. This was reported by Volodymyr Zelensky.
“Discussed the possibilities of supplying gas to Ukraine and countering security challenges with the President of Mozambique Daniel Shapu. Ukraine is interested in additional supplies of energy resources,” the message says.
The Ukrainian side expressed interest in additional supplies of energy resources, while Mozambique expressed interest in Ukrainian technologies and experience to strengthen internal security and protect the population from terrorist threats.
During the talks, the presidents also discussed possible cooperation in the areas of digitalization and food security. As a result of the meeting, an agreement was reached on joint work between the Ukrainian and Mozambican teams on the implementation of the agreed initiatives.
Ukraine is increasing gas imports after Russia struck the country’s gas production infrastructure, and has already begun pumping gas into underground storage facilities in preparation for the next heating season.
