Ukraine has begun paying a one-time benefit of UAH 1,500: who will be able to receive funds from April 1

In Ukraine, from April 1, a one-time payment of UAH 1,500 to pensioners and other vulnerable categories of the population began. The funds will be accrued automatically during April, there is no need to apply. This was announced by Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko.

According to Svyrydenko, the assistance will be paid within the framework of a targeted support program for citizens who are most affected by the consequences of rising world prices for fuel and, accordingly, for goods and services.

Several categories of citizens will be able to receive a one-time payment of UAH 1,500. These include, in particular, pensioners by age, people with disabilities, low-income families, recipients of basic social assistance, internally displaced persons among recipients of social payments, large families and single mothers.

As the Prime Minister noted, if a person simultaneously belongs to several categories of recipients, the payment will be assigned to him only once. The money will be transferred to bank accounts or delivered via Ukrposhta. Payments will continue throughout April.

On March 12, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced new support programs for Ukrainians. Pensioners and recipients of social assistance will automatically receive a surcharge of 1,500 hryvnia, and car owners will be able to compensate for part of their fuel costs.

Later, Svyrydenko reported that the Cabinet of Ministers approved the “Cashback on Fuel” program, and from March 20, Ukrainians can receive partial compensation for costs at gas stations that have joined the program.
