Ukraine initiated an emergency meeting of the OSCE due to the Russian strike on Kryvyi Rih

Ukraine initiated an emergency meeting of the OSCE due to the Russian missile attack on Kryvyi Rih, as a result of which 20 civilians were killed. About this informs representative of Ukraine at the OSCE and other international organizations Yuriy Vitrenko.

According to the diplomat, an extraordinary special session of the OSCE Permanent Council will be held on April 8, which will consider the Russian terrorist attack against peaceful residents of Kryvyi Rih, including children, as well as the general escalation of attacks on the civilian population in Ukraine.

“The ground will burn under the feet of the Moscow delegation”, Vitrenko noted.

The OSCE Permanent Council is the key decision-making body between the annual meetings of the Council of Ministers and includes representatives of all 57 participating states. Emergency special sessions are convened for prompt response to crisis or particularly important events.

We will remind that on April 5, Russian troops attacked a residential area of Kryvyi Rih, using a ballistic missile with a cluster warhead. The explosion occurred in the air near a children’s playground, resulting in a large number of civilian casualties.

As of now, nine children are known to have died. UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Turk said the attack was the worst mass killing of children since the start of the full-scale war.
