The Swedish government announced the provision of the 20th aid package to Ukraine in the amount of 836 million US dollars. This was reported by the Swedish Minister of Defense Paul Jonson.

“Today, Sweden presented the 20th package of support to Ukraine in the amount of 836 million US dollars. It includes, among other things, 18 new Archer systems, an extension of long-term military aid to Ukraine from Sweden of $3.6 billion annually in 2026-2027, and $900 million in annual civilian funding through 2026-2028, – said Paul Jonson.

According to him, Sweden will purchase new Archer artillery systems and 155mm ammunition worth $327 million.

“Thus, the total Archer arsenal in Ukraine will grow to 44 systems. When I visited a Ukrainian company using the Archer last month, the military confirmed its effectiveness against Russian targets”, – the minister noted.

He also announced that $190 million worth of equipment will be purchased in the maritime sector, including mobile coastal radar systems, new support vessels with grenade launchers and unmanned aerial systems.

“32 transferred combat boats of the 90th class will receive additional sensors, weapons systems and radars”, – he added.

The Minister of Defense clarified that the Armed Forces of Sweden will hand over equipment worth 12.7 million dollars to Ukraine. “It consists of 500 motorcycles and support equipment for the air base such as trucks and tractors”, – clarified the minister.

According to Jonson, the Tridon Mk 2 anti-aircraft systems transferred to Ukraine will be enhanced with radar sensors and control systems.

“In addition, more 40 mm anti-aircraft ammunition is provided. Also included are $68 million in financial contributions to various capacity building coalitions”, – he added.
