Ukraine initiates agreement with Western partners to protect key resources: Zelenskyy

Ukraine’s victory plan includes a proposal for international partners to jointly protect critical resources, invest and share the country’s economic potential. This was stated by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi during the presentation of the Victory Plan in the Verkhovna Rada.
Zelenskyi emphasized that strategically important resources, the value of which is estimated at trillions of dollars, are concentrated on the territory of Ukraine. Among them are uranium, titanium, lithium, graphite and other metals that can strengthen either Russia or Ukraine and its international partners. He emphasized that these resources are an important component of global competition and one of the main aggressive goals of Russia in this war.
The President noted that the development and use of these resources is an opportunity for the economic growth of Ukraine and its allies, as well as for the strengthening of the European Union from the point of view of economic and security autonomy. In addition, Zelenskyy emphasized that cooperation with Ukraine in this area opens up significant opportunities for investments from the United States and G7 partners.
Zelenskyi also said that the economic part of the Ukrainian strategy contains a secret application available only to certain partners. According to him, Ukraine offers the USA, the EU and other international partners to conclude a special agreement on the joint protection of critical resources, their investment and the use of economic potential. This, according to him, will be part of the strategy of peaceful resolution of the conflict through economic power.
The president added that such an agreement would complement existing sanctions against Russia, oil restrictions and other measures of economic pressure aimed at weakening the Russian economy. He emphasized that Russia’s allies in the world should understand that the regime in Moscow has no economic future.
On October 16, Zelenskyi presented the Victory Plan, emphasizing that its implementation could end the war as early as next year, providing Ukraine not only with protection, but also with advancing to the second peace summit, which will put a “fair end for Ukraine” in the war.
