Ukraine managed to return the bodies of another 1,200 dead

On June 13, as a result of repatriation measures, the bodies of 1,200 victims were returned to Ukraine. About this reported Coordinating Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War.
According to the Russian side, these bodies belong to citizens of Ukraine, in particular to military personnel. The repatriation took place in accordance with the agreements reached during the negotiations between Ukraine and Russia in Istanbul. Investigators, together with experts from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, will conduct the necessary examinations and identification of bodies that have returned to Ukraine.
The return of the bodies became possible thanks to the joint work of the staff of the Coordination Headquarters, the Joint Center under the SBU, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, the Office of the Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for Human Rights, the Secretariat of the Commissioner for Missing Persons in Special Circumstances, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine and other structures of the security and defense sector of Ukraine. Representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross provided assistance in the process of repatriation.
“Special thanks to the personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who carry out the transportation of repatriates to designated state specialized institutions, organize the transfer of the dead to representatives of law enforcement agencies in the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and forensic medical examination in the system of the Ministry of Health.” – noted in the headquarters.
