Ukraine plans to develop its own chip production. The Ministry of Digital Transformation signed a memorandum of cooperation with the National Semiconductor Association. About this informs Ministry of Digital Press Office.
This initiative is implemented within the framework of the WINWIN Strategy for the Digital Development of Innovations until 2030.
Within the framework of the memorandum, the key areas of development of the industry are defined:
- implementation of scientific developments in industrial production;
- participation in international technological projects;
- support of Ukrainian companies in entering global markets;
- development of startups through mentoring initiatives and funding;
- strengthening the cyber protection of semiconductor production infrastructure;
- training of specialists and launch of specialized educational programs.
The ministry reminded that chips are the foundation of most digital technologies — from household appliances to high-precision weapons. Valeriya Ionan, Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation, emphasized that the development of national semiconductor production is a strategic response to global challenges.
“This will help us reduce our dependence on foreign markets, diversify our economy, and establish ourselves as a prominent player in global technology policy.”, — said Valeriya Ionan.
