Ukraine plans to increase the supply of electricity from Poland in autumn and winter: Ukrenergo

The head of the NEK board assured that now all efforts are aimed at improving the situation in the power system.

Ukrenergo, together with Polish partners, is working on expanding technical capabilities and increasing the volume of electricity supplies to Ukraine in autumn and winter. Volodymyr Kudrytskyi, the chairman of the board of NEC “Ukrenergo”, announced this in his statement video messages on Facebook.

“We are working not only on repairs and strengthening protection, but also actively looking for ways to attract more electricity from Europe. We are especially actively cooperating with Polish colleagues to increase the technical capabilities and volume of electricity supply to Ukraine in the fall and winter. These measures are designed to compensate for the deficit, caused by Russian attacks”, – he noted.

Kudrytsky emphasized that more detailed information will be provided after concrete agreements are reached.

The head of the board also noted that Ukrenergo did not introduce restrictions on electricity consumption during the last week, and the dispatch center does not plan shutdowns for the coming weekend.

“This is a great relief for all Ukrainians, but I want to remind you that we cannot relax: the damage to the power system remains significant and there are still challenges ahead of us. Heat of over 30 degrees may return and this may change the situation in the power system. Follow our messages and messages from your oblenergo”– emphasized Kudrytskyi.
