Ukraine ranked first in the world in terms of mortality and has the lowest birth rate

Ukraine took the first place in the world in terms of death rate, and also has the lowest birth rate. This is evidenced by the latest data from the official reports of the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), which contain statistics on the death and birth rates in various countries of the world.

According to data, today the mortality rate in Ukraine is 18.6 deaths per 1,000 people, which is the highest rate among all countries. This means that Ukraine is even ahead of other countries with high mortality rates. In second place after Ukraine is Lithuania with an indicator of 15.02 deaths per 1,000 people, and the third place in terms of mortality is Serbia with a level of 14.9 deaths per thousand people.

According to the data, countries with the lowest death rates, such as Qatar, recorded only 1.4 deaths per 1,000 population, the lowest rate in the world.

As for the birth rate, Ukraine also came in last place for this indicator, with only 6 births per 1,000 people. This is evidence that the country is facing a serious demographic crisis. In the penultimate place in terms of birth rate is the French possession of Saint-Pierre and Miquelon, where this figure is 6.4 births per 1,000 people. Niger became the leader in terms of birth rate in the world, with a birth rate of 46.6 births per 1,000 population.

We would like to remind you that the situation with mortality and birth rate in Ukraine continues to be critical. In 2024, the country’s death rate is more than three times its birth rate, indicating a significant gap between the two. The most deaths and newborns were registered in the Dnipropetrovsk region and in the capital of Ukraine, Kyiv, which is a reflection of the general situation in the country.
