Ukraine to accelerate installation of mobile towers
The Cabinet of Ministers adopted a resolution accelerating the process of building mobile communication base stations (towers). About this reported press service of the Ministry of Digital Transformation.
From now on, during martial law, mobile operators will be able to obtain permits for the placement of base stations much faster – within 25 days, while previously this process could take up to two years. Such a solution will allow mobile operators to more effectively expand coverage in hard-to-reach regions of Ukraine, as well as along major transport routes.
The ministry explained that now permits for the placement of base stations on state and communal property, in particular on the roofs of buildings, will be granted in 15 working days instead of six months. On state and communal plots of land, the permit granting period will be 25 working days instead of a year and a half.
Once approved, operators can begin deploying equipment immediately. At the same time, preparation for auctions, development of land management projects and other necessary procedures for registration of lease of property or land plots must be completed during the period of martial law or within two years after its end.
