Ukraine will submit a three-point plan to the second Peace Summit: Nikiforov

Ukraine is preparing three main points for the second peace summit, which have become part of the Peace Formula. Kyiv is also seeking to enlist the support of the Global South, as Presidential Spokesperson Serhiy Nikiforov said during a telethon.

Ukraine is preparing a three-point plan to present at the second Peace Summit. Ukraine is actively cooperating with the countries of the Global South to enlist their support,’ Nikiforov said.

He explained that it refers to the three main points of the Peace Formula discussed at the previous summit in Switzerland: food security, energy security and exchange.

Nikiforov added that these three points, supported by a hundred states and international organisations, will form the basis of the document for the Second Peace Summit. At the same time, since August, Ukraine has been holding thematic conferences on other points of the Peace Formula, which may also be included in the final document.

President Zelenskyy noted that in November, work on the text of the Peace Formula, which will lay down all the conditions for a just end to the war and will be presented at the Second Peace Summit, will be completed.

In October 2022, Zelenskyy presented the Peace Formula to G7 leaders aimed at countering the Russian threat. The document includes defence assistance to Ukraine, protection of its territorial integrity, prosecution of those responsible for armed aggression, countering ecocide and establishing conditions for ending the war.

The peace formula consists of ten points:

  1. Radiation and nuclear safety.
  2. Food security.
  3. Energy security.
  4. Release of all prisoners and deportees.
  5. Compliance with the UN Charter and restoration of Ukraine’s territorial integrity and international order.
  6. Withdrawal of Russian troops and cessation of hostilities.
  7. Return of justice.
  8. Countering ecocide.
  9. Preventing escalation.
  10. Securing the end of the war.
