Ukrainian ports provided with special equipment to eliminate water pollution
The European Maritime Safety Agency has transferred a new batch of specialized equipment to Ukrainian seaports for rapid response to water pollution. This was reported by the State Enterprise “Seaports Administration of Ukraine”.
The humanitarian cargo included modern boom barriers, mobile floating tanks and high-power specialized pumps. All equipment has already been delivered to the seaport of Chornomorsk.
In the event of an emergency, the equipment can be quickly redeployed to eliminate the consequences of accidents in other deep-water and Danube ports of Ukraine.
“Today, when port infrastructure is regularly targeted by Russian attacks, it is important for us to be ready not only to restore work after shelling, but also to promptly respond to their consequences”, — said the head of the State Enterprise “Seaports Administration of Ukraine” Mykola Kravchuk.

According to him, support from European partners will significantly strengthen the capabilities of emergency and rescue services and will contribute to increasing the level of environmental, security and economic sustainability of the port industry.
The issue of rapid elimination of environmental and man-made consequences has acquired particular importance against the background of regular attacks on port infrastructure, terminals and civilian vessels. For 2026, the State Enterprise “Sea Ports Administration of Ukraine” has allocated more than 100 million hryvnias for measures to protect port infrastructure.
