Ukrainians affected by the war will be able to renew their driver’s licenses for free: Cabinet decision

The Cabinet of Ukraine has adopted, according to which citizens who suffered as a result of the war will be able to renew their driver’s licenses and vehicle registration certificates free of charge. About this reported Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyridenko.

“The government has adopted a decision that allows free restoration of driver’s licenses and vehicle registration certificates for citizens affected by the armed aggression of the Russian Federation. These are cases where documents were lost due to shelling. People should not face additional bureaucratic barriers in already difficult circumstances.”, says the message.

Minister of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko clarified that the affected persons are exempted from paying for the production of new driver’s licenses and transport documents, in particular, payment for plastic forms will not be charged either.

To use this service, the victim must receive a document from the investigator confirming his status as a victim. With this confirmation, she can contact any service center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs – stationary or mobile. There, the administrator will promptly process the request and issue new documents free of charge.

“The next step is the immediate free recovery of ID documents. We are working on a solution to this problem,” Klymenko added.
