Unmanned systems and SSR forces hit 5 Russian substations
The Ukrainian Defense Forces carried out a combined strike on Russia’s energy infrastructure. Five substations in the area of the city of Gryazi, Lipetsk region, with a total capacity of 5,066 MVA, were hit. This was reported by the commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Robert “Magyar” Brovdi.
According to Brovdi, the operation was carried out by the “Birds” of the 1st Separate Center for Unmanned Systems Forces, which was created on the basis of the former 14th SBS Regiment. One of the five substations, probably with a voltage of 500 kV, was hit together with units of the Special Operations Forces.
The commander called this operation “Glare of Black” and recalled its consequences for the Russian energy system with the words: “light/heat-BADABOOM-dark/winter”. “Magyar” also reported that other Ukrainian deep-attack units hit “swamp floodplains and other strategic objects” of the enemy. He separately commented on the fuel situation in Russia, noting that “gasoline is becoming a scarce liquid, and gas and oil are quickly flammable.”
As a reminder, on the night of November 2, drones from the “Alpha” Special Operations Center of the SBU struck a tanker and key infrastructure of an oil terminal in the port of Tuapse, Krasnodar Territory. Five hits were recorded, which caused a fire and disabled part of the equipment.
The operation was carried out in coordination with other security and defense forces. As a result of the attack, five drone hits were recorded. As a result of the strike, the tanker caught fire and at least four oil tanker standers used for loading and unloading ships were disabled. Several port buildings were also damaged.
The Security Service of Ukraine reported that the port of Tuapse is home to an oil terminal and an oil refinery owned by Rosneft. Later, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed the damage to the infrastructure of a Russian oil refinery in the Krasnodar Territory.
