Ukrainians in Poland are helped with finding and renting housing: how to use the program

Program “Step Home” (KDD) from the Habitat Poland foundation, which is aimed at Ukrainian refugees in Poland, helps to find housing for relocation, correctly draw up lease agreements, and finance a deposit or rent. The foundation also helps with additional services, such as finding and paying for language courses or childcare.
However, not everyone can use the program. Applicants must meet several criteria. In particular, it is only about helping those who arrived in Poland after the start of a full-scale war. The applicant should aim for a long-term lease of one year or more. Also, the total income of the family should be 3,000 – 4,500 zlotys per month.
What help does the program provide?
Participants of “Step Home” can receive a mini-guide for independent housing search, remote services from a realtor, as well as financing to pay for the services of a realtor. In addition, Habitat Poland lawyers help with drafting or checking lease agreements.
As for financial assistance, the foundation makes a partial payment of the cost of the deposit or the cost of rent for the first time. It is also possible to finance additional services: language courses, vocational training, childcare, etc.
How to apply?
To receive help from the project, you need to fill out the application form link.
Please note that the processing of applications from Ukrainians takes about 7 days, so program specialists advise applying for help at least a month before you need to move to a new home.
