Ukrainians in regions affected by hostilities can receive financial assistance from the Right to Protection Foundation
Residents of five Ukrainian regions affected by hostilities can apply for financial assistance to purchase basic necessities. The program is implemented by the Right to Protection charity foundation together with partners with direct funding from the US government.
Ukrainians living up to 50 kilometers from the front line or the state border with Russia, people with an income of no more than 8,422 hryvnia per person, as well as internally displaced persons can apply.
Separate conditions apply to displaced persons. IDPs who left due to shelling or a threat to their lives, moved from 45 days to 6 months ago and currently live more than 50 kilometers from the front line or the border with the Russian Federation can apply for assistance.
Applications are currently being accepted in Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Zaporizhia, Sumy and Odesa regions. Registration is carried out by reception points and mobile brigades of the fund.
The amount of payments depends on the circumstances. People living near the front or border can receive 1,800 hryvnias per month – a total of 10,800 hryvnias for six months.
Those who were evacuated due to hostilities or mandatory evacuation can receive 4,100 hryvnias per month. The total amount is 12,300 hryvnias for three months.
The same amount – 4,100 hryvnias per month, or 12,300 hryvnias for three months – is provided for families whose housing was damaged or destroyed as a result of shelling, as well as for families whose family members were injured.
The funds are paid in one payment for the entire period of support. The money is transferred to the applicant’s personal bank account. Payment is usually made 4–6 weeks after registration.
At the same time, compliance with the basic conditions does not guarantee receiving assistance. During the selection process, the level of income, the presence of a disability or serious illness, family composition, number of children, age of family members, distance to the combat zone, displaced person status, and general level of material hardship are taken into account.
To complete the application, you must have a passport or other identity document, the National Social Security Number (RNOKPP) of all family members, a personal hryvnia account IBAN in a Ukrainian bank, as well as documents confirming the family composition and the grounds for receiving assistance.
The bank account must be opened in the name of the applicant. Cards from the programs “eSupport”, “eBaby”, “eRecovery”, “Diya.Kartka” and “National Cashback” are not suitable for payments.
First, applicants undergo a preliminary check for compliance with the program conditions. After that, families who can participate receive an invitation to register.
On the day of registration, all household members must be present in person. If someone cannot come due to health reasons, a mobile team can be organized if necessary.
The addresses of registration points and their working hours can be found through the chatbot “Cash Assistance from the US Government”. Additional information is provided on the hotline 0 800 750 104 on weekdays from 09:00 to 18:00, as well as by e-mail [email protected].
