Ukrainians on OnlyFans must pay income taxes: Hetmantsev
The number of Ukrainians who create paid content on the OnlyFans platform is growing rapidly, in particular, the number of accounts triples every year. Many users earn significant income, and these incomes are subject to taxation. Penalties are provided for tax evasion. About this stated Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy, Danylo Hetmantsev.
“The Tax Office received information about citizens of Ukraine who are creators of paid content on Only Fans. For example, citizen C received more than $4 million for creating paid content on the Internet platform OnlyFans over several years. Also, citizen K from more than $3 million was received from the specified activity, and citizen “B” received about $1.8 million”, – noted the deputy.
He reminded that according to the Tax Code of Ukraine, any taxpayer who receives income from foreign sources is obliged to submit a tax declaration and pay taxes.
“Having a positive attitude towards any kind of non-violent money-making, I strongly recommend that such citizens still fulfill their tax obligations – declare income and pay taxes. And this applies not only to Only Fans”, – emphasized Hetmantsev.
Failure to comply with the requirements for submitting a declaration risks the addition of income tax at the rate of 18% and military duty at the rate of 1.5%, as well as a fine of 25% of the amount of income.
Additionally, it is stated that in 2023, OnlyFans paid 1.273 million dollars to the Ukrainian budget, and the Canadian company Aylo, which owns PornHub, registered in Ukraine as a VAT payer for electronic services.
