US partially transferred anti-UAV systems from Ukraine to the Middle East: Pentagon chief

US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth confirmed that the United States has carried out a partial transfer of anti-unmanned aerial vehicles from Ukraine to the Middle East region. That’s what he’s about reported during his appearance on Fox News.

“I was at a hearing on Capitol Hill this week. One of the questions I was asked was: did you actually transfer some of your anti-UAV assets from Ukraine to the Middle East? I gave an affirmative answer: yes, we did.” Pete Hegseth said.

In response to a question from Republican Senator Jerry Moran during the hearing, he explained:

“Senator, as you know, the Middle East remains a very dynamic theater. Putting America first, we will deploy counter-UAV systems to our troops and bases if there is a threat. Given the current situation, that has been and remains our priority.”

Hegseth noted that the United States uses all available resources to ensure the protection of American military personnel in various parts of the world, taking into account the changing security environment.

It will be recalled that earlier the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi reported that the United States sent about 20,000 missiles for air defense systems, which were supposed to be transferred to Ukraine, to the Middle East. According to Zelensky, this decision was made after the attack of the Hamas group on the territory of Israel in October 2023. The President emphasized that Ukraine did not receive any of these missiles at that time.
