US-Russia talks scheduled for this weekend in Miami: Politico

Negotiations between representatives of the United States and Russia are to take place in Miami this weekend, dedicated to a possible end to the Russian war against Ukraine. This is reported by Politico, citing two people familiar with the preparations for the meeting.

According to the publication, the American side will be represented by US envoy Steve Witkoff and President Donald Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner. Russia will participate in the negotiations by the head of the Russian sovereign wealth fund Kirill Dmitriev. The parties are expected to focus on discussing the US “peace plan” for Ukraine.

As noted by Politico, the talks are scheduled a few days after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky praised progress during meetings in Berlin, while warning that Russia is preparing for a “new year of war”.
