Usyk was challenged to fight by two-time Olympic boxing champion Bakhodir Jalolov

Uzbek boxer Bakhodir Zhalolov, who is still undefeated in the professional ring and has two Olympic gold medals, announced his readiness to fight with Oleksandr Usyk for the heavyweight championship.

“After a long journey, I am finally ready to fight for the championship title. I want to get that belt as soon as possible, almost 100% ready for a championship fight. I am ready to fight the strongest opponents in the heavyweight division. Usyk, Joshua – I’m ready to fight these boxers.

So far, all my opponents have been about the same for me. I have a powerful jab, yes, but I haven’t faced top-10 fighters yet, so I can afford to relax in my fights. This weekend I’ll be back in the ring, and then we’ll see how my career develops.

When I step into the ring, knockout is not the main way for me to entertain the fans, because I have tough fights waiting for me and I won’t be able to knock out everyone.

I started boxing at the age of 14, but I loved playing football and watching Wladimir Klitschko fights. He didn’t miss many punches, he was a great heavyweight champion, I liked his style in the ring.”, – said Zhalolov in an interview Ring Magazine.

It will be recalled that on April 5, Zhalolov, who is a fan of Klitschko and defeated the Ukrainian, entered the ring against Ukrainian boxer Ihor Shevadzutskyi. It was the first time when an Uzbek athlete did not win early – the judges unanimously gave him the advantage based on the results of a full fight.
