Vitaliy Shabunin, head of the Anti-Corruption Center, who was previously accused of evading military service, uses for personal purposes a car donated by the “Paladyn” charitable foundation for the needs of the Armed Forces. This is reported in the mass media, as well as on the TG channel “Insider UA”.

“In June 2023, Shabunin, as a serviceman of the 241st Territorial Defense Brigade, received a Nissan car from the Paladin military base. According to the documents signed by the anti-corruption officer Shabunin, this car was intended for “the performance of tasks related to strengthening the defense capability of Ukraine.”

In September, during his annual vacation, Shabunin reportedly came to Kyiv, and Vitaly never returned from his vacation to the military unit, taking with him a four-wheel drive “Nissan”. The video shows how Shabunin moves around the capital in a humanitarian car in November and December 2023, although according to the documents at that time he was allegedly in the unit. – informs “UA Insider”.

Journalist Volodymyr Boyko, who serves in the same brigade as Shabunin, also reported:

“In the summer of 2023, the charitable foundation handed over a Nissan Pathfinder car to the A7376 military unit (207th separate battalion of the TRO 241st separate brigade of the TRO), which was accepted by the rifleman of the 1st rifle company of this battalion, Shabunin soldiers. He took this jeep with him. Moreover, serviceman Shabunin every day drives this car in Kyiv and even entered the car in his declaration as given to him for free use for an unlimited period of time.”

As Boyko notes, at the beginning of the full-scale war, Shabunin agreed that he would be included in the TRO retroactively.

“After receiving a military card, he went home and doesn’t even know where his part is. Nevertheless, he receives UAH 53,000 on his bank card as a shooter every month (UAH 23,000 in cash support and UAH 30,000 for performing military tasks in conditions of martial law)”, – wrote Boyko.

According to the journalist, Shabunin appeared several times when he brought letters from the NAKC to be sent there for service. However, the court established that from March to September 2023, when his military unit was carrying out combat missions in Donetsk region, Shabunin did not go on a secondment to the National Security Agency.

In addition, a video was released showing Vitaliy Shabunin driving a humanitarian car through the streets of Kyiv in November and December 2023, although officially at that time he was allegedly in the military.

“According to the documents, on November 1, the activist allegedly returned to the east, but in fact he continues to drive around the capital in this car in November and even in December. Although this car would be very useful for 241 separate brigades of the TrO, because they asked for volunteers for the new year In the meantime, the humanitarian car is used by soldier Shabunin to move around Kyiv. – says the video.

In addition, the edition apostrophe.ua informs that a car with license plate KV2132 was imported on April 28, 2023 through the Rava-Ruska-Grebenne checkpoint of the Lviv region as humanitarian aid to the Paladyna Charitable Fund. It is also said that Vitaly Shabunin’s family has two more cars – a Chevrolet Orlando and a Hyundai Tucson, for which Shabunin received the right of temporary free use last year. Information about this is contained in his electronic declaration for 2022.

According to the declaration, during the war, Vitaliy Shabunin worked at the Kyiv MTPCC and SP and received a salary there. He reported that in 2022 he received a salary of 182.2 thousand hryvnias at the Kyiv City Military Committee. It is not specified how long Shabunin worked at the Military Commissariat.

Also, according to the declaration, during the war, Shabunin received 402.5 thousand hryvnias of salary in the military unit A4076, 217.8 thousand hryvnias of income from business activities and 1.33 million hryvnias of salary in the Central Committee. His wife received about 50,000 hryvnias in aid from the US State Department. In addition, she keeps 12.2 thousand euros and 5.2 thousand euros in accounts in the online bank Revolut bank.

This is stated in the decision of the Dnipro District Court of Kyiv, which is considering an old criminal case involving an anti-corruption officer. The commander of the military unit where he allegedly served told the court that in November 2023 he was expelled from the unit, as he was appointed a combat medic in another unit by order of the General Staff.

“The head of the CPK, Vitaly Shabunin, turned out to be a combat medic. This is already the fifth position that was invented for him in order to protect the activist from actual service in the Armed Forces… At the same time, V. Shabunin never spent a single day in the army, formally going to vacation immediately after being sent to a military unit,” reports the publication “Zakon i Business”.

We will remind you that currently the SBI is investigating two criminal cases against anti-corruption officer Shabunin – for evasion of mobilization and forgery of NAKC documents, which have been pending for several months.
