Volodymyr Zelenskyy does not know the purpose of the Hungarian delegation’s visit to Ukraine
President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that he did not know what the Hungarian delegation, which arrived in Ukraine ostensibly to inspect the Druzhba oil pipeline, was doing.
“I learned about the visit from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. And what is the delegation doing here? I do not know. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs told me that, well, people arrived. They described it as a private trip,” Zelensky noted.
The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry confirmed that on March 11 a group of Hungarian citizens without official status and planned meetings.
The Hungarian delegation led by the State Secretary of the Ministry of Energy Gabor Čepek announced its intention to visit Ukraine for negotiations on the restoration of the Druzhba oil pipeline and inspection of its condition.
Previously, Hungary and Slovakia planned to send a monitoring mission to the site of damage to the oil pipeline in Brody to obtain an expert assessment of the damage.
