White House press secretary says ‘Russia-Ukrainian conflict’ could end next week
White House Press Secretary Carolyn Leavitt stated, that the US president is confident in his ability to reach an agreement with Russia to end the war, or as she calls it, the “Russian-Ukrainian conflict”, which has been going on for three years. According to her, the president and his team are actively working on the negotiation process with both sides of the conflict, and it may end as early as next week.
“The president and his team are very focused on continuing to negotiate with both sides of this war to end the conflict, and the president is very confident that we can do that next week.” Levitt told reporters at a press conference on the White House lawn after returning from the Conservative Political Action Conference.
Leavitt also said that National Security Adviser Matt Waltz will be working non-stop on the deal this weekend.
In addition, she reported that Finance Minister Scott Bessent is participating in negotiations with the Ukrainian side regarding the proposal for the use of minerals.
“When it comes to critical minerals, this is an important part for the president. This is very important for the president because it will repay the money paid to Ukraine at the expense of the American taxpayers.” Levitt said.
