Yulia Svyridenko held a meeting with Robert Fico and announced a new round of negotiations in Slovakia

Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko met in Uzhhorod with her Slovak counterpart Robert Fico. They discussed key infrastructure and energy projects, including the launch of Ukraine’s first narrow-gauge railway between Uzhhorod and Chop.

“At the meeting with the Prime Minister of Slovakia, Robert Fico, attention was paid to our economic cooperation. We discussed the state of implementation of key infrastructure and energy projects and in this context welcomed the opening of the narrow-gauge railway section between Uzhhorod and Chop. This is the first Eurotrack built in Ukraine, which opens up opportunities for the development of passenger connections with a number of European capitals, Yulia Svyridenko noted.

She added that the governments have agreed to prepare a new round of joint consultations, which will take place in Slovakia in the near future.

“I thanked the government of Slovakia for its unwavering support of Ukraine’s European integration aspirations and the need to open negotiation clusters with the EU simultaneously for Ukraine and Moldova as soon as possible, – stressed Svyridenko.

We would like to remind you that on September 5, the first bilateral meeting between the Prime Minister of Slovakia Robert Fico and the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky was held in Ukraine.

According to the Slovak mass media, the delegation in Uzhgorod also included Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Denisa Sakova and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Juraj Blanar. The President of Ukraine was accompanied by Yulia Svyridenko.
