Zelensky discusses possible free trade agreement between Ukraine and the United States with Trump: Bloomberg

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said he is in talks with US President Donald Trump about a possible free trade deal between Ukraine and the United States. He said this in an interview with Bloomberg, noting that such an initiative is being considered within the framework of a broader package to rebuild the country and strengthen its economic security after the end of the war.

According to the head of state, the potential agreement could provide for zero tariffs in mutual trade and extend to certain industrially developed regions of Ukraine. Zelensky stressed that this would create “very serious advantages” for Ukraine compared to neighboring countries and could stimulate the inflow of investment and interest of international business.

The president also noted that the proposed format requires direct discussion with Donald Trump, emphasizing that a free trade agreement could become an additional element of economic security guarantees for Ukraine.

In addition, Zelensky said that he expects a personal meeting with Trump – either in the United States or in Davos, Switzerland, during the World Economic Forum
