Ukrainian pensioners and recipients of social assistance will receive a one-time supplement of 1,500 hryvnias. The Ministry of Social Policy must prepare a corresponding program by April. This was announced by Volodymyr Zelensky on March 12.
The payment is expected to cover at least 13 million Ukrainians and will be received automatically by those with the appropriate income level, without additional bureaucracy.
“The Ministries of Economy and Energy of Ukraine should also prepare a support program for those of our people who are currently experiencing particular pressure due to the destabilization of the fuel market due to the situation around Iran and the reduction in oil supplies to the world market.
The program will apply to consumers of diesel, gasoline and automotive gas in Ukraine and will operate through a cashback system, allowing them to compensate for part of the costs of fuel,” the president said.
Volodymyr Zelensky instructed Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko to work out the details of both programs within one or two days and present them to the public.
At the same time, the president did not report on the sources from which the additional payments and cashback will be financed.
